All data are presented as means ± s.e.m.; N=number of trout. Values and statistics are from Figs 2, 4 and 5. Changes in ventilatory variables following the action of 5 pmol NPγ and 50 and 100 pmol SP and NKA were omitted since they were not significant (see text and Figs 2, 4 and 5)
