Licence agreements for The Company of Biologists' journals
Each journal applies a single licence agreement to all its articles. This single licence cover the terms required for:
- articles published under a subscription model (green Open Access) under the terms of a Publication Agreement
- articles published gold Open Access under the terms of a CC-BY licence
- articles applicable for discounted or fee-free Open Access publication under institutional Read & Publish agreements
- articles granted full or partial waivers on Open Access journals Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open
- articles required to be compliant with Plan S
- articles required to be compliant with the NIH Public Access Policy
- articles published under an EIFL agreement for developing and transition economy countries
- review-type articles that do not incur an Article Processing Charge (including, but not limited to, Reviews, Editorials, Perspectives, Meeting Reviews, Interviews, At a Glance poster articles)
Authors receive the licence agreement once their article has been accepted for publication. This is managed through the BenchPress article submission system. You can find example licence agreements below:
