SEB 2021 Annual Conference

Thank you for visiting our website after seeing us at the Society for Experimental Biology 2021 Annual Conference.

Journal of Experimental Biology is a proud sponsor of this meeting.

On this page we would like to tell you more about our journal and how we can support you.

About JEB

Journal of Experimental Biology (JEB) is the leading primary research journal in comparative physiology and publishes papers on the form and function of living organisms at all levels of biological organisation, from the molecular and subcellular to the integrated whole animal. Our authors and readers reflect a broad interdisciplinary group of scientists who study molecular, cellular and organismal physiology in an evolutionary and environmental context.

JEB Highlights 2020

To get a sense of the broad array of topics and species that are covered in Journal of Experimental Biology, take a look at our 2020 Highlights.

Subject collections

Many of the participants at this year's SEB Annual Conference have published their research in JEB.

The subject collections listed below highlight a selection of the papers of the recipients of the 2020 and 2021 Bidder Lecture and President's Medal (Animal Biology).

How JEB supports early-career researchers

JEB and its publisher, The Company of Biologists, are committed to supporting those who are at the early stages of their careers. Here are some of the things we do that will benefit the next generation of scientists:

Conversation: a series of interviews in which early-career researchers discuss their work and what they have learnt in their careers so far.

Travelling Fellowships: we offer grants to junior scientists making collaborative visits to other labs or field sites, helping them expand their networks and gain new research skills.

Outstanding paper prize: we award a prize to the junior author of the research paper that is judged to have made the most outstanding contribution to the journal each year.

Workshops: we offer funded places for early-career researchers at all of our Workshops. Attending these events is a great way to expand your network and further your research. Here are some testimonials of junior scientists that have attended our Workshops.
