The study of the neural basis of behaviour - neuroethology - is a core area of JEB. This subject collection brings together a selection of content published in the journal since 2015 and spans the breadth and depth of neuroethology across a range of taxa.

Snakelocks sea anemones point their tentacles, packed with symbiotic algae, toward the sun so their lodgers can photosynthesize, and now Vengamanaidu Modepalli & colleagues have discovered that photosynthesis by the algae guides their host's tentacles towards the sun.
