There were two errors in J. Exp. Biol. (2023) 226, jeb245014 (doi:10.1242/jeb.245014).
This Outside JEB article had some inconsistencies with the original research paper featured (doi:10.1093/iob/obad009).
In the third paragraph, the text ‘…frogs living at higher altitudes tolerate high temperatures better than frogs that live at lower altitudes, suggesting that these highland populations are less vulnerable to rising temperatures caused by climate change’ should have said ‘…frogs living at higher altitudes tolerate low temperatures better than frogs that live at lower altitudes, suggesting that these highland populations are less vulnerable to larger variation in temperatures caused by climate change’.
In the final sentence of the same paragraph, the text ‘all frogs that they tested may have an adaptation of the skin to avoid water loss’ should read ‘none of the frogs tested were at high risk of stress-related water balance issues, probably because similar levels of water were available at high and low altitudes’.
The author apologises to readers and to Bovo et al. (doi:10.1093/iob/obad009) for these misunderstandings. The pdf and online versions of the Outside JEB article have been updated to correct these issues.
