Fig. 1 on page 109 of this paper is described in the text as showing typical sequences of walking in an untethered animal. The figure actually illustrates examples of transitional gait perturbations that occur only rarely. An example of the typical pattern is shown in the figure below. In this system, as in others studied, the concentrating effect of load is a much finer adjustment than is suggested by the erroneously substituted example.
