ABSTRACT
Atrophic changes in the testes and accessory organs following hypophysectomy have now been described in a number of mammals, but not as yet in the guinea-pig. McPhail and Parkes (1933), in describing a method of removing the pituitary in guinea-pigs, noted that regression of the testes occurred but gave no details. Pencharz and Lyons (1934) have described the effects of hypophysectomy on the pregnant female, while Selye, Collip and Thomson (1934) record the operation on a single pregnant female.
