Cover: A confocal image of the infundibulum region of the mouse oviduct epithelium. Adult oviduct was stained for ZO1 (green), γ-tubulin (green) and Odf2 (red), and with Hoechst (blue). Two folds can be found in the image. The multiciliated cells, with around 150 basal bodies, are visualized with γ-tubulin and Odf2 as small dots, and secreted cells are seen with with large two dots of γ-tubulin. In the multiciliated cells, basal bodies are aligned, and cilia make directional movements, which are coordinated within each cell, as well as between cells, to enable transportation of eggs from ovary to the uterus.
