Target cell tension regulates macrophage trogocytosis by Caitlin E. Cornell et al.
Visual summary of the preprint from Cornell et al. (bioRxiv) created by Felipe Del Valle Batalla.

Why it was selected
This research provides compelling evidence that physical properties, particularly target stiffness, influence macrophage behaviour. Personally, it also feels interesting since mechanosensing-related cell behaviour is a promising area that could be explored further to help shape the immune response and develop new therapies. Finally, this work suggests that trogocytosis might be much more common than previously thought, especially when macrophages encounter softer targets like cells.
