ABSTRACT
Among the trichonymphid flagellates inhabiting the gut of Leucotermes tenuis Hagen sent me by Dr. Withycombe from Trinidad is one that I have decided to place in the genus Microspironympha Koidzumi.1
With Plate 7 and 2 Text-figures.
The other trichonymphids commonly occurring along with Micros p i r o n y m p h a in this termite are a species of P seudotric hny mpha and a form that I have described as Holomastigotoides hemigym num Grassi (?). See Mackinnon (1926) in the list of references at the end of this paper.
As in Holomastigotoides, the ends of the chromosomes have a tendency to be folded back at this stage, which may give the impression of there being more than four.
When I published my observations on Holomastigotoideslhad not seen Kirby’s first paper ; my work appeared in April 1926, and Kirby’s second paper in September of that year.
