Adam Emergent was inspired by Michelangelo's Creation of Man from the restored Sistine Chapel ceiling fresco in Rome, where the artist Nadia Rosenthal heads the EMBL Mouse Biology Unit in nearby Monterotondo. Adam is seen emerging from a page of model organisms − these represent both classical and more recently employed models for the molecular, cellular, physiological and behavioural life sciences that underpin our understanding and exploration of human disease. - PDF Icon PDF LinkTable of contents
