Drug Discovery
Model systems are central to the discovery and development of new and better treatments for human disease. This collection, first launched in 2015 with a special issue titled From Bench to Patient: Model Systems in Drug Discovery, guest edited by Matthew Breyer and Thomas Look, highlights the contribution of model systems to drug discovery and optimisation across multiple disease areas. It features Reviews and Research articles on the use of model systems to test or develop new therapies.

History of our journals

As our publisher, The Company of Biologists, turns 100 years old, read about DMM’s history and explore the journey of each of our sister journals: Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology and Biology Open.
A new perspective on disease research
DMM publishes perspectives – peer-reviewed articles that provide expert analysis of a topic important to the disease research community. Read our collection from authors presenting new or potentially controversial ideas or hypotheses, to help address future challenges and forge new directions.
