Neuromuscular Disease
Neuromuscular diseases encompass disorders that impair muscle function, by either directly affecting voluntary muscle or indirectly affecting nerve and neuromuscular junction function. Knowledge from model systems is essential for improving our understanding of these complex disorders and for developing successful treatments. This collection features Research articles, Reviews and interviews, including specially commissioned content from our 2020 special issue A Guide to Using Neuromuscular Disease Models for Basic and Preclinical Studies, which was guest edited by Annemieke Aartsma-Rus, James Dowling and Maaike van Putten.
