About the Node

the Node is an online community site that was launched by Development in 2010 as a place for developmental biologists to share news and information about developmental biology (including upcoming conferences, job opportunities and useful resources), and to debate and discuss relevant topics with each other. It is a not-for-profit community resource that is supported by Development’s publisher, The Company of Biologists, and is open to all members of the community.

Through the Node, Development provides developmental biologists with an established venue to interact online, with over 25,000 page views per month. Thanks to its community blog format, anyone in the community can create an account and post with minimal restrictions. As such, although Development oversees and manages the Node, much of the content is provided by the community.
