2020 collection: Computational Modelling of Development

Welcome to Development’s 2020 subject collection on Computational Modelling of Development.

For over a century, developmental biologists and mathematicians have collaborated to understand the principles of morphogenesis, patterning and gene regulatory networks in the embryo. In this collection, we bring together some of the articles from the last 12 months that use computational modelling and mathematical theory to interrogate key developmental questions in plants and animals. We hope that you enjoy reading through these selected pieces. We would also like to remind you, at a time when many researchers are unable to conduct experiments, that Development welcomes the submission of purely computational or theoretical papers.
