(bio033514) report the successful, direct differentiation of horses iPSCs into bone-forming osteoblasts. Spindly is required for rapid migration of human cells
Summary: Spindly is a mitotic dynein/dynactin cofactor that influences chromosome alignment and division. In this report we present the first evidence that human Spindly has a role in interphase cell migration.
Nitric oxide-mediated intersegmental modulation of cycle frequency in the crayfish swimmeret system
Summary: We develop a novel pharmacological approach using a nitric oxide donor and a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor to analyse modulation and segmental synchrony in the swimmeret rhythm of the crayfish.
Cell-autonomous role of GFRα1 in the development of olfactory bulb GABAergic interneurons

1α,25(OH)2D3-glycosides from Solanum glaucophyllum leaves extract induce myoblasts differentiation through p38 MAPK and AKT activation
Summary: Solanum glaucophyllum leaf extract (SGE) contains 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3-glycosides that promotes myoblast fusion through AKT and p38 MAPK pathways. Moreover, SGE regulates the expression of myoD1, myogenin and MCH2b at the beginning of differentiation.
Osteoblast differentiation of equine induced pluripotent stem cells
Summary: Horse iPSCs can be turned directly into bone forming cells but the efficiency is affected by the donor horse. Less variability is observed using different iPSC lines derived from the same horse.
KDM5B decommissions the H3K4 methylation landscape of self-renewal genes during trophoblast stem cell differentiation
Summary: The histone 3 lysine 4 demethylase KDM5B plays a key role in regulating H3K4 methylation during trophoblast stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. KDM5B regulates the transcriptional profile of TS cells during self-renewal and differentiation, and resets the H3K4 methylation landscape during differentiation by removing H3K4me3 from promoters of self-renewal and TS cell enriched genes.
Feeder-free differentiation of cells exhibiting characteristics of corneal endothelium from human induced pluripotent stem cells
Summary: This study demonstrates differentiation of adult dermal fibroblast-derived iPSCs into neural crest and corneal endothelial-like cells, which could be a valuable tool for investigating the mechanisms of cornea endothelial disease.
Tbx6 controls left-right asymmetry through regulation of Gdf1
Summary: Tbx6 affects morphology of the cilia of the node, but a leftward nodal flow is still generated. Downstream of nodal flow, Tbx6 regulates the Nodal coligand Gdf1 leading to disruption of left/right axis determination.
Robust interaction of IFT70 with IFT52–IFT88 in the IFT-B complex is required for ciliogenesis
Summary: IFT70 is a subunit of the IFT-B complex involved in anterograde trafficking of ciliary proteins, including tubulins. IFT70-knockout cells failed to form cilia, indicating its essential role in tubulin trafficking.
Tolerance to paternal genotoxic damage promotes survival during embryo development in zebrafish (Danio rerio)
Summary: In fish embryos, genomic instability generated by fertilization with DNA damaged sperm activates mechanisms of DNA damage tolerance, which seems to be mediated by Δ113p53 expression, promoting survival.

There are many ways to produce goosebumps
In this Research Article, Jonathon McPhetres investigates the different stimuli that can produce goosebumps and how the body’s response is different depending on the trigger. This phenomenon highlights a shared trait with animals, suggesting that while goosebumps may seem less functional for humans, they reflect a complex interplay of physiological reactions. The author shows that goosebumps are more nuanced than previously thought.
