Summary: We generated Fgfr2 mutant mice unable to bind GRB2 directly and investigated the developmental phenotypes, observing that GRB2 binding to FGFR2 does not have a critical role in development.
Towards an objective measurement of sleep quality in non-human animals: using the horse as a model species for the creation of sleep quality indices
Summary: Unlike in humans, the quality of animal sleep cannot be assessed via verbal subjective report. This study sought to use quantitative scoring indices to measure sleep quality in the horse (Equus caballus).
Deletion of taf1 and taf5 in zebrafish capitulate cardiac and craniofacial abnormalities associated with TAFopathies through perturbations in metabolism
Summary: Pathogenic variants in components of TATA-binding protein associated factors (TAFs) have been identified in patients with intellectual disability, craniofacial hypoplasia, and congenital heart disease. Our findings demonstrate that the TAF complex contributes to neurologic, craniofacial, and cardiac development through regulation of metabolism.
Effectors of anterior morphogenesis in C. elegans embryos
Summary: We identify new proteins in apical ECM biology in C. elegans and provide evidence that SYM-3/FAM102A and SYM-4/WDR44 function together in trafficking but do not regulate apical ECM protein deposition.
The C. elegans gene gvd-1 promotes late larval development and germ cell proliferation
