RESEARCH ARTICLES

Summary: We generated Fgfr2 mutant mice unable to bind GRB2 directly and investigated the developmental phenotypes, observing that GRB2 binding to FGFR2 does not have a critical role in development.

Summary: Unlike in humans, the quality of animal sleep cannot be assessed via verbal subjective report. This study sought to use quantitative scoring indices to measure sleep quality in the horse (Equus caballus).

Summary: Pathogenic variants in components of TATA-binding protein associated factors (TAFs) have been identified in patients with intellectual disability, craniofacial hypoplasia, and congenital heart disease. Our findings demonstrate that the TAF complex contributes to neurologic, craniofacial, and cardiac development through regulation of metabolism.

Summary: We identify new proteins in apical ECM biology in C. elegans and provide evidence that SYM-3/FAM102A and SYM-4/WDR44 function together in trafficking but do not regulate apical ECM protein deposition.

Summary: We show that gvd-1, a nematode-specific C. elegans gene is essential for cell division in diverse postembryonic cell lineages, including the germ line, during late larval stages.

Summary: Direct interaction of the dynein-2 complex with the IFT-B complex as an anterograde intraflagellar transport (IFT) cargo is indirectly required for dynein-2–driven retrograde IFT.

METHODS & TECHNIQUES

Summary: A new deyolking method for zebrafish embryos enables high-resolution confocal imaging of deep tissues, offering a simple and effective technique for biomedical research.

Summary: This paper reports data consistent with tetracycline-mediated fluorescence having the potential to be an effective marker of senescence in immortalised cells.
